Welcome to the website of St James the Great, Birstall and Our Lady and St Nicholas, Wanlip.

If you are new to the area, welcome to this parish.

We are the Anglican Churches in the area and serve the people of Birstall and Wanlip alongside our fellow Christians, the Methodists and the Roman Catholics, confessing together our faith in God through his son Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to be:

Safeguarding

Our Church is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults, particularly the vulnerable, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Ensuring that children and young people as well as adults are kept safe whilst in our care is an integral part of our church life. Our PCC has adopted the House of Bishops’ ‘Promoting a Safer Church; safeguarding policy statement’.

If you have any needs, please let us know when you come or contact us beforehand if you want to check first.  The building is accessible and we have an accessible toilet.  We also have gluten free wafers if needed – please let us know when you arrive.

You can find our safeguarding and other policies on our Safeguarding page.

Our Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSC) is Annette Marshall and she can be contacted on 07946 732202 or by email: annette.marshall8@gmail.com or by mail at the church office (St Jame's the Great Church, Church Hill, Birstall, Leicester, LE4 4DJ).
